In our first blog, we catch up with Green Up Director of Operations and ask him questions about the future of playgrounds. We also learn about his personal interests and why he feels inspired.

Who has been the biggest influence on your life? “Hands down my parents. They were incredible role models for me when I was growing up. They taught me the importance of family, character and good values.”

What are the most important lessons you’ve learned? “Hard work breeds success. Nothing is going to be just handed to you. You have to be willing to work hard and be patient and in time you will get to where you want to be.”

What does the future hold for playgrounds? The manufacturers today are coming out with some amazing products. This allows the designers to be more creative. I believe in the future you will see more themed parks using custom equipment. You will also see more playgrounds with electronics incorporated into them.”

Can you describe your professional background?I have a bachelors in Landscape Architecture from Iowa State University. When I graduated from college I worked for a landscape architecture/Land Planning office for 3 years”

What’s the best thing about Green Up?What could be better than building playground for kids. It’s pretty cool to see the excitement of the kids getting to play on new play equipment for the first time.”

Describe your hobbiesI love playing all sports. I love fishing, hunting, hiking. Pretty much anything to do with the outdoors.”
